Jerusalem's Jubilee

Today is Jerusalem day in Israel. It was 50 years ago in 1967 that Israeli forces took Jerusalem from the country of Jordan. And it was 50 years before that in 1917 that the British took Jerusalem from the Ottoman Turks.

As you may know, the 50th year in the bible is a Jubilee. The fact that Jerusalem was conquered by the British and then 50 years later (a jubilee) by the Jews indicates that God's hand was involved.

As in 1917 and in 1967, this year of 2017 (which is on the same 50 year cycle) could see some kind of major fulfillment of bible prophecy.  (1917 - 1967 - 2017)

The Flood of Noah

Today (May 14, 2017) is Mothers Day in many nations of the world. But on the biblical calendar it is the seventeenth day of the second month, the day the Flood of Noah began.

“In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.” (Genesis 7:11)

It was on this day around 4350 years ago that Noah and his family entered the Ark and the rain began to fall. The day of judgment had come. Mankind had chosen to go their own way. They had rejected their creator and corrupted themselves beyond repair.

The total solar eclipse on August 21 this year, crosses the continental United States, dividing the country almost in half. Will America be divided in 2017?

Second Seal

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. - Revelation 6:3-4

Feast of Tabernacles

The seven-day feast of Tabernacles begins at sundown this evening. Moses instructed the Israelites to live in Tabernacles or booths made from palm fronds and tree branches for seven days, beginning on the 15th day of the 7th month. This was done to remind the Israelites that they had lived in temporary shelters as they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. (Leviticus 23:34-43) The feasts which God gave to Israel are prophetic. Many prophesied events have occurred on these feast days. There is a good chance that one particular prophecy will be fulfilled during the next seven days. -  I’ll be watching. (Photo of Sukkah (Tabernacle) in Israel by Zachi Evenor)

US Pulls Nukes from Turkey

The 50 tactical nuclear weapons the US has at Turkey’s Incirlik air base are being rushed to another air base in Romania. Turkey’s president Erdogan blames the US for the attempted coup which took place July 15th. Since the attempted coup, Turkey has gone from being an ally of the United States to being an ally of Russia. Now the US is having to move their nukes from Incirlik air base or lose them. The recent rapid realignment of the Middle East has some bible prophecy teachers thinking Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39.

Tenth Day of the Fifth Month

Today is Sunday, August 14, 2016 on our Gregorian calendar. But on the Biblical calendar it is the tenth day of the fifth month. Both Jewish Temples were destroyed on this momentous day. On the tenth day of the fifth month in 586 B.C. the first Jewish Temple (Solomon’s Temple) was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar:

“Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem, And burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire”. (Jeremiah 52:12-13)

And it was on the tenth day of the fifth month in 70 A.D that the second Jewish Temple was destroyed by the Roman General Titus:

“So Titus retired into the tower of Antonia, and resolved to storm the temple the next day, early in the morning, with his whole army, and to encamp round about the holy house. But as for that house, God had, for certain, long ago doomed it to the fire; and now that fatal day was come, according to the revolution of ages; it was the tenth day of the month Lous, (Av – Fifth Hebrew month) upon which it was formerly burnt by the king of Babylon …” (Josephus –War of the Jews – Book 6, Chapter 4, verse 5)

Since 70 A.D. many other disasters have taken place on this date. And it is my belief that a dark prophecy from the book of Daniel will be fulfilled on a future tenth day of the fifth month.

God, the great timekeeper, causes events to transpire according to his calendar - the biblical calendar.
